Making room for Ava's things!

We quickly learned that babies need/have lots of things...swing, bouncy chair, baby bed, clothes, changing table, boxes of diapers, etc. When it was just the two of us we managed well in our two bed/two bath bungalow, but adding Ava to our family meant sharing what little space have. We also don't have a garage, but did have a dilapidated storage shed outside that held typical things a garage would - such as a mower and other lawn tools. Our main storage space for holiday decorations, photos, etc. is in our somewhat spacious laundry room inside the house.

Since Ava arrived, we have been shifting items to make space for her things. We lost an entire bedroom...and most of our storage space in the laundry room. We temporarilly rented a storage unit about 1/2 mile from our home...until Chris was able to coordinate the custom build of our new storage shed - demolish and haul off the old shed, relocate sprinkler heads, trim trees AND completely remove a tree. When it was all completed, Chris built shelves in our new shed and completely organized all of our items to maximize the space.

As you can see from the photo...the shed matches our home. It is BIG...and spacious and has plenty of room for us to store all of our things. The only thing...when Ava is big enough to be outside with her daddy...she is going to want the shed to be her play house. It is adorable and looks like a fabulous play house for a precious little girl.
